Lobos 1707 is an independent brand that was launched in 2020 as a joint venture between founder and Chief Creative Officer Diego Osorio and CEO Dia Simms, with backing from basketball icon LeBron James. Connecting New York, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, the spirits brand is focusing on premium tequila and mezcal.

The idea behind Lobos (Spanish for wolves) stems from Osorio's great-great-grandfather who was transporting tequila to Spain in Sherry barrels, quickly learning that the oak transformed the spirit into something uniquely smooth and elegant. It's this tradition that has led to Osorio replicating the recipe with traditional tequila from Altos de Jalisco and Oaxaca, Mexico. Lobos 1707 tequila and mezcal get finished in Pedro Ximenez (PX) wine barrels.

It's the wolves on the Osorio family's coat of arms that served as the inspiration for the brand's image. The bottles take this further, with the hue of each expression signifying its origin. The Tequila Joven sports a blueish hue in reference to the blue Weber agave. The spirit itself is a blend of blanco and reposado tequila that gets carbon filtered and finished in PX wine barrels using the solera method. The unique 80-proof spirit ends up with a flavor profile that is more mature than typical silver tequila.

In Mexico, tequila distilleries are identified by their NOM, a number given by the Mexican Government to identify legal entities that produce tequila. Casamigos is produced at the Productos Finos de Agave; NOM 1416, the same distillery that makes well-known brands like Avion (the tequila created by the “Entourage” crew) and Clase Azul.

Casamigos Joven Mezcal is handcrafted in Oaxaca, Mexico by a 4th generation family of Mezcaleros using 100% Espadin agaves. Every one of the bottles is hand crafted using a unique process insuring no two bottles will ever be the same. Expect balanced and elegant notes of, pomegranate, banana and mango.
