America is no longer béhôlden to dusty decanters & tartan tradition.
Behold a whiskey of singular repute, sired from stills of storied past - absolved of obsolescence and conscripted to the quest for a new era of Single Malt. An advent of age unprecedented, indebted to its provenance, yet beholden only to the farthest bounds of creation.
The Béhôlden is the first-ever super-aged North American Single Malt, matured more than twice as long as any other on the continent. Aged for 21 long years in American Oak to add a rich maple and dried fruit to a bready, nutty base. Finished in WhistlePig Rye barrels bringing savory spice and subtle smoky notes, a game-changer for progressive palates.
With only 18 barrels in our Spring 2023 release this Single Barrel, bottled at 92 proof, is the holy grail of American Single Malt.

This autumn we unveil the latest chapter in The Boss Hog odyssey, a journey through parts previously unknown in the world of whiskey. It begins with some of the oldest Rye on our Farm. Then, a double finish in barrels formerly belonging to Greek fig nectar and scratch made Tentura – a Greek style liqueur inspired by Ancient Patras.
Siren’s Song is the result… an adventure for the ages, befitting its own ode. It beckons you with refrains of supple sweetness and exotic spice. Honoring our five promises for every edition of The Boss Hog, you are guaranteed a stupendous and powerfully complex whiskey; single barrel in origin, bottled at proof and unique from anything you’ve ever before tasted. And for the first time ever, the cask finishes for this particular edition were crafted by our own whiskey makers: Liz Rhoades and Meghan Ireland.
The dynamic duo were inspired by the Muses of Greek Mythology – each of whom is depicted on one of nine bespoke pewter toppers: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia, and Urania. Amass them all if you dare; these others of creation also birthed the mischievous and mysterious sirens.

Hochstadter's takes rye whiskey and flavors it ” strongly ” with orange and honey (plus a bit of lemon, grapefruit, and horeshound), then bottles the concoction along with plenty of rock candy syrup, which knocks the sweetness into the stratosphere. We sampled a bottle to see what the fuss was all about a century or so ago¦

Catoctin Creek Distilling Co., The Virginia Rye Whisky℠ , and heavy metal rock band legends, GWAR are back for the second annual release of their infamous Ragnarök Rye. The Virginia natives teamed up to release the first collaboration in May 2021 and are excited to launch 1,000 more cases from the orbit of the moon. That is if GWAR doesn’t drink it all this time...
“We really thought we had seen the last of these guys, but they came back,” remarked Scott Harris, Founder and General Manager of Catoctin Creek. “You know how people tell you to never feed a stray cat? Yeah, that goes double for space monsters. We never should have given them that whisky. Now, we’ll never be rid of them!” The intergalactic visitors returned to Catoctin Creek, demanding even more of the tasty Ragnarök Rye whisky. Under threats of violence, the distillery team cranked out another batch.
Rated 93 points by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Catoctin Creek Ragnarök Rye is a 92- proof intergalactic rye whisky that is pot stilled, then aged in charred new white oak, sugar maple, and cherrywood. This year’s bottle includes new and improved collectible metal die-cast toppers representing all five band members:
The bottle’s new commemorative whisky label also matches the artwork from GWAR’s new album, “The New Dark Ages,” which was released digitally in June and will be available as a CD on July 15, and vinyl and cassette on Sept. 16 via the band’s label, Pit Records.

Extremely Rare & Highly Allocated
WhistlePig began when a ragged band of Rye enthusiasts dared to set forth beyond the bounds of past or possibility. In pursuit of independence, innovation – and ingredients – we landed upon an abandoned dairy barn in the heart of Vermont farm country. Today, after years seeding, harvesting, mashing, fermenting, distilling and patiently waiting, our first barrel of 100% WhistlePig Farm-to-Bottle whiskey is here – and better than we imagined in our wildest Rye dreams.
Beyond Bonded FarmStock Rye is a Straight Rye Whiskey crafted from grain-to-glass at the WhistlePig Farm and Distillery.

The only US made 20-year old rye whiskey currently available on the market, the Lock, Stock & Barrel 20-Year is sourced from Alberta Distillers Ltd. barrels that were hand-selected by late spirits luminary, and third-generation distiller Robert J. Cooper. It’s made from a rare mash bill of 100% rye grain in copper pot stills, and a “robust cut” is then selected and aged in cold weather in newly charred - not toasted - American oak barrels. Because American whiskeys must be aged in new charred oak barrels to be labeled bourbon or rye, they run the risk of becoming over-oaked the longer they’re aged. Lock, Stock & Barrel 20-Year avoids this result due to the cold climate, 3.5 barrel char, and lack of toasting, providing a rich and robust, yet balanced, flavor.
The spirit is packed in an opaque black glass bottle that stands out on the shelf for its singular appearance with the added benefit of protecting the aged whiskey from light exposure. On the nose Lock Stock & Barrel gives warm spice, toffee and bright stone fruit. To taste, the 20yr straight rye whiskey is intensely flavorful and well balanced, with a luxuriously full bodied palate that explodes with caramel, clove, and cinnamon like a warm spiced date cake with dried apricot, cantaloupe, and peppery rye. A long and velvety finish lingers with notes of butterscotch and a honeyed rye spice dry down.
