In 2013, the Veuve Clicquot cellar master created a unique blend composed exclusively from reserve wines, in order to express the quintessence of Yellow Label and paying tribute to Madame Clicquot and her innovative and visionary process. Thus was born the Extra Brut Extra Old cuvée, a particularly singular champagne.

In 2019, Veuve Clicquot unveiled a second blending to the Extra Brut Extra Old cuvée collection. Extra Brut Extra Old 3 is a complex, nuanced blend of eight of the House’s prestigious reserve wines - 1990, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012, aged for a minimum of five years. Pinot Noir dominates the blend (45%) and provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (27%) that adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (28%) that rounds out the blend. The aging potential is more than 15 years.

In 1810, Madame Clicquot invented the first Vintage Champagne, in 2012 Veuve Clicquot declared the 66th vintage of the Maison. With grapes exclusively from Grands and Premiers Crus, Pinot Noir dominates the blend (51%) and provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, followed by Chardonnay (34%) that adds finesse and elegance essential in a perfectly balanced wine, and then Meunier (15%) that rounds out the blend. Madame Clicquot created the first blended Rosé in 1818 by adding some red wine to Yellow Label champagne. The result was Veuve Clicquot Rosé, a fruity and full-bodied expression of the Veuve Clicquot style.

Made using 50 to 60 different crus, the cuvee is based on Brut Yellow Label's traditional blend, 44 to 48 % Pinot Noir, 13 to 18 % Meunier, 25 to 29 % Chardonnay.

The blend draws on a particularly high percentage of reserve wines originating from several harvests (usually 5 or 6): from 25 to 35%, sometimes as much as 40% to ensure the consistency of the House style.

The reserve wines, some of which are 9 years old, are kept separately depending on the origin of the crus and the years in which the wines were produced.

This blend is completed with 12% of red wine using red grapes specially raised and selected to give a marvellous balance to this rosé.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut has been the symbol of the House since 1772. A perfect balance between power and finesse, its complexity comes from the predominant presence of Pinot Noir and Reserve Wines. It showcases our superb vineyards and the consistent style of our House. Grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different Crus go to the blending of Yellow Label. Traditionally, the proportion of each grape variety used is 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Meunier and 28 to 33% Chardonnay. These figures vary slightly from year to year according to conditions.
